Void Aaron Boone's contract: save $4.8M
Trade Alfonso Soriano to Texas: save $5.4M

Acquire the best player in the game and only increase the payroll by $1.43M: priceless.
註：Yankees 今年要付給 A-Rod 的金額一共 $14M（原來薪水由 Yankees 支付部份是 $15M，$1M 延後到 2011 年給付）。在 Drew Henson、Aaron Boone、Alfonso Soriano 今年省下來的部份一共是 $12.57M，所以等於是多花了 $1.43M 把 Soriano 換成 A-Rod。
